Michaela Slinger

Music Coach - Voice | Piano| Songwriting |

The story goes that Michaela was singing before she could talk. She gave her first public performance at the age of three, singing the anthem at a sold-out NBA game (see her YouTube channel for proof). From there, she was hooked and immersed herself in musical theatre, vocal lessons, piano, and dance, with big plans to become a Broadway star.

From the time Michaela was in elementary school, she was also creating her own material: she wrote songs in her sparkly journal, choreographed dance numbers for her sister, and had friends over after school to make music videos on their family iMac. As Michaela grew older, she realized that she loved being in the driver's seat of the creative process. While her love of theatre remained, music composition started becoming her focus. Finding that Royal Conservatory training didn’t meet all her needs to become a future pop star, she picked up a guitar in a Grade 10 music class. The following year, she joined an after-school songwriting club and took Music Composition 11, which changed everything. That hour each morning in class was the first dedicated space she’d had for writing and recording, and she couldn’t get enough.

Michaela went to university, started sharing her writing with audiences at open mics, and formed a band with her two roommates. Since then, Michaela has worked alongside incredible collaborators and supporters, and as of February 2020, she was signed with 604 Records. Michaela teaches voice, piano, and songwriting.
